WINNIPEG: Barron Miles played six seasons for the Montreal Alouettes before joining the B.C. Lions as a free agent last year.
During his time with Montreal, he struck up lasting friendships with several players, including quarterback Anthony Calvillo.
“They’re pretty much like aunts and uncles to my kids,” said Miles, who now lives in Cloverdale. “They watched my kids grow up.”
He’ll have to put aside such friendships temporarily on Sunday when the Leos battle the Als.
Miles and Calvillo are actually going for a Hawaiian holiday beginning Dec. 5.
“One of us is going to have the Grey Cup,” Miles said. “I want it to be in my hands.”
